Why Slim Artificial Christmas Trees are in Demand
In 2016, it was estimated that almost 6 million artificial trees were sold in the United States alone. This is a huge increase from 1998 when only 2.6 million artificial trees were sold.
According to The National Christmas Tree Association (NCTA), more than 30 million artificial trees were purchased in 2018. While it may seem like a lot, it’s actually down from the previous year when 32 million artificial trees were sold. This is due in part to the economy improving and people having more money to spend on their holiday decorating.
But how many slim artificial Christmas trees are sold each year? It’s hard to say exactly, because there are so many different types of slim artificial Christmas trees available that they’re not even tracked by the NCTA anymore. But we can make some educated guesses based on our research and conversations with retailers and industry experts.
According to the National Christmas Tree Association (NCTA), slim artificial Christmas trees make up about a third of all artificial trees sold each year. They surveyed 2,000 U.S. consumers about their Christmas tree preferences and found that:
- 85% of respondents said they use an artificial tree because it requires less maintenance than a live version;
- 81% said they use an artificial tree because it costs less than a live version;
- 47% said they use an artificial tree because it takes up less space in their home; and
- 36% said they use an artificial tree because they can put it up earlier than a live version.
There are lots of reasons why people buy slim artificial Christmas trees. Some of them include:
- They want a tree that won’t take up too much space.
